Visit with Tetiana Sirenko, Director of Forest Glade
On Wednesday, June 4, Lena met with Tetiana Sirenko, the director of Forest Glade.
Forest Glade treats soldiers and veterans suffering from psychological trauma. The center also helps individuals recover from being held captive by Russia.
According to The Kyiv Independent, Forest Glade is "Ukraine's first state-owned medical center specializing in treating psychotrauma." PTSD rates are on the rise throughout Ukraine – impacting civilians, veterans, soldiers, POWs, refugees and children. Addressing mental trauma will continue to be a demand that Ukraine faces for many years to come. We are proud to be connected to this pioneering institution and hope to continue working with them in the future.
As we continue to work with psychologists and psychiatrists to strengthen our mental health initiative, visits like this are imperative. When visiting mental health centers, we can establish relationships and see what areas of Ukraine's mental health infrastructure need the most support.
Thank you, Forest Glade, for having us! We are thankful for this time at your facility and for the work you are doing.
