Marta Pyvovarenko Receives Award from the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies
ACHF would like to extend a huge congratulations to Марта Пивоваренко for recently being awarded the Global Travel Award for 2025 by the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). Marta is serving as our principal researcher for our PTSD study in Ukraine and is more than deserving of this recognition.
Marta recently shared about her experience with ISTSS and has graciously granted ACHF access to reshare her reflection:
"ISTSS is held annually as a meeting of scientists where participants share their frontline knowledge on trauma. Typically the conference lasts four days and is structured as symposiums and panel discussions to be held at the same time, thus bringing together at one place the forefront key knowledge on trauma. It is no coincidence that this meeting is becoming a turning point in funding science globally, promotes development of knowledge at the U.S. Department of #VA, and allows allies to better overcome PTSD consequences and other health issues as a result of traumas of war.
For me, Marta Pyvovarenko, personally it was an honor to chair the panel titled 'Frontline Worker Mental Health in Ukraine: Stories, Strategies, and Gaps.'"
Congratulations again, Marta! We are thankful for your partnership with ACHF and service to Ukraine.
