Saving a Ukrainian Soldier’s Life: Sergey’s Story

Sergey was an I.T. specialist before he went to fend off Russian aggression in Ukraine. His unit was deployed to the Kharkiv region of Ukraine, when a bullet hit him from the Russian side of the battle.

Here Dr. Vitaly Demyanchuk, the Deputy Director of the State Institution Ukrainian Health Ministry Heart Institute describes where the bullet was lodged:

Sergey successfully came through surgery and was released to return to duty! Items used in the surgery that were sent by the Arlene Campbell Humanitarian Foundation through our generous donors and the donors of the United Methodist Committee on Relief included: masks, gloves and over $50,000 of purchased surgical tools. The surgical tools were purchased in Ukraine to help enhance the Ukrainian economy.
