Our friends at the Children’s Center for Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery (Центр дитячої кардіології і кардіохірургії) were also impacted by this airstrike due to their proximity to the children’s hospital.

“Every month, up to 120 operations were performed in our institution, most of which were performed on young children and critical heart defects in newborns. Currently, the capacity of pediatric cardiac surgery departments has been reduced by almost two-thirds,” Dr. Andrii Maksymenko, Chief Medical Director of the cardiac center, said. “Our main task is to restore the operation of the damaged facility as soon as possible in order to prevent the deaths of children and newborns with heart defects.”
