Chernivtsi Geriatric Boarding House Receives Food

We are happy to report that a large shipment of food arrived to the Chernivtsi Geriatric Boarding House on April 3, 2023. This delivery will feed 174 people, including 63 persons who are known as internally displaced persons (IDPs). These are people who had to flee their homes to survive due to the current war. We are grateful for your generous donations and for grant funding from UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief that allowed this shipment of aid to arrive. Food is medicine, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help keep an elderly and vulnerable population as healthy as possible.

Items received included:

  • 1,739 units of sprat in tomato sauce

  • 1,739 units of natural sardines with additional sauce

  • 1,000 units chicken meat in its own juice

  • 1,250 units gourmet beans

  • 700 kg Honey Crisp and Fuji apples

  • 150 kg oranges

  • 150 kg tangerines

  • 2000 potatoes
