Human Rights Watch: Izium Apartment Victims Need Justice

Read the Article

A residential apartment building was hit by a direct attack on March 9, 2022. 44 civilians lost their lives in the attack.

Situated near the Ukrainian border, Izium was on the frontlines of the Russian invasion in 2022. In the days leading up to the attack on 2 Pershotravneva Street, Ukrainian troops were seen defending the area.

“We found no evidence to justify treating the apartment building as a legitimate military target, or that Russian forces tried to avoid or minimize the destruction of so many civilian lives.” - Richard Weir, senior crisis and conflict researcher at Human Rights Watch

Today, the apartment serves as a reminder of the oppression and destruction that Russia wants to bring upon Ukraine. The community in Izium has seen the horrors of war up close, and ACHF is coming alongside them to help rebuild a vital part of their city. Help us fund the rebuilding of the House of Prayer "New Life" Church by donating today. Together, we can help Izium rebuild.
